Organic sesame (Sesamum indicum) is a widespread crop plant and, like poppy, a capsule fruit, and comes from the family of the sesame plants (Pedaliaceae). The seeds are in square capsules, from which they must be threshed or shaken. The taste of sesame is nutty. Sesame can be used for oil production as well as for cooking.
Organic chia seeds are originally obtained from the plant species of the genus sage (Salvia) within the family of labiates (Lamiaceae). They are among the oldest human foodstuffs. The native inhabitants of South and Central America already knew the healthy and invigorating effect of this plant species. Chia seeds are almost tasteless and can, therefore, be combined very well with other foods.
